The Joy of Love - Day 28 - the Future

I wonder about the future a lot.  For example, will Tyler ever wear pants?

Will the boys ever stop fooling around with the water cooler?

Will Reece ever really WANT his picture taken?

Will I ever stop finding the debit card in weird places?

Or kleenex by the Ranch dressing?

I love my boys more than I can even express, and even though I get frustrated, I love their little quirks and their differences.  They are precious, precious, precious, and I thank God daily for healthy, happy boys.  I am truly blessed :)

The Joy of Love - Day 27 - What they say

Tyler & Riley have their own language.  For example, when they ask for chocolate milk, they ask for "choccanilk."  When Riley says yeah, he says "La," as in fa la la.  When Tyler says vegetables, it sounds like "bitchables."  When Riley says fork, it sounds like......well, never mind what it sounds like.

Their favorite words these days come from the Disney movie, Cars.  I think it's adorable.  Apparently they do too, because they quote Mater CONSTANTLY!!!

From left to right, we have Sally, Mater & Lightning McQueen.

Riley will hold the case and ask for , "Maner, Maner, Maner!"

Doesn't Tyler look thrilled?  Mater is always saying, "If I'm lyin' I'm cryin!"  The boys love this line, though it mostly sounds like, "Line crine!"

And finally, here's Tyler telling me he's "free years old," (and looking like he just came from the liquor cabinet).

The Joy of Love - Day 24 - Where we met :)

I've known Steve for most of my life.  I would guess my earliest memories of him go back to when I was 5 years old.  We went to the same school and church until I moved to Illinois.  I should add that I also had a crush on him the majority of that time, although he was totally oblivious.  Life took us in separate directions until 2006, when I came to Nevada with a friend for a visit.  My friend and I had dinner with Steve, and that is where the following picture came from.

This photo is almost 5 years old now, but I still remember that night very clearly.  We're now going on 5 years of marriage :)

The Joy of Love - Day 23 - Fave FB photos

Ok so I thought this would be really easy.  But since I have a billion photos of my family of FB, it was rather hard to choose some of my favorites.  So here goes.....

These are several months old now, but I still love looking at them :)

The Joy of Love - Day 22 - portraits

Today is portrait day.  So I have a portrait for you (sort of).   Here is Tyler, February 22, 2008.  He weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz.  He's my smallest baby out of all of them.  But his personality definitely makes up for it!

Happy 3rd birthday to my precious Tyler!  Don't ever stop making me laugh :)  I love you so much!

The Joy of Love - Day 21 - Hands

We took the kids to Bonnie Springs over the weekend.  They were so excited and they loved every minute of it, from chasing the goats and peacocks to petting the pig and deer.

Here are some shots of their hands while we were there.  These are all SOOC, as editing was the absolute last thing I felt like doing when we got home.

Tyler's hand

Steve & Riley's hands

Erin & Ryan's hands
(OK this one I converted to B&W)

Reece was not interested in showing off his hands :)

The Joy of Love - Days 19 & 20 - When they're gone & when they're home

I'm doing a twofer today, only because I'm behind and this will put me on pace.  Let's see how my living room looks when I'm the only one home.

Most days I vacuum the floor in this room 2-3 times, at least.  Our house is small, so this room takes a lot of abuse!  Let's view the difference between an empty house and a full house.

I was hoping this guy would clean up some crumbs.

Now that you've all seen my dirty living room, I'm going to go clean something.

The Joy of Love - Day 18 - Going Out

Last week I had the luxurious privilege of leaving the house........by myself.  SANS CHILDREN!!!
I ate at a place called Rachel's Cafe, and shopped at Anthropologie, Williams Sonoma & Pottery Barn.
Check out these gorgeous bowls.  I wanted them all.

As I sat outside the cafe for lunch, it was just slightly breezy and overcast......a lovely day for pictures outside.

And of course I had dessert.

Admittedly, I missed my kids while I was gone.  But the time alone was much needed!

The Joy of Love - Day 17 - Staying In Part 2

We had a mishap with suckers yesterday.  Just another example of what happens when we're at home.  Let's examine the photo below.  Tyler picked out this beautiful sucker in the Valentine's clearance section at Target.  I think it was a whopping $.44, a bargain for a few minutes of quiet while Tyler is eating.  Look at him eyeing it.

Here's Riley with his bargain sucker.

Everything was peaceful, until..............

Tyler did NOT like his sucker, and decided it would be beneficial to everyone involved to simply swap suckers.  Riley did not share this opinion.

And here's where Tyler's sucker ended up.

In the end, Tyler got Riley's sucker, and Riley got an even better sucker.  See how happy they are?

The Joy of Love - Day 17 - Staying In

We stay in a lot.  We also go a lot of places together.  But mostly we stay in.  Let's take a look at staying in, shall we?  Here's Steve helping in the kitchen.

Here are my boys standing on the table.  Aren't their legs cute?

And Riley, telling us how old he is.

Ryan, chilling out in his bouncy seat.

A blurry picture of us, finally sitting down!!

The Joy of Love - Day 16 - Together

I'm behind on my posting.  Maybe it's because of the tube of toothpaste that was squeezed into the toilet.  It looked like blue, fluffy waste.  Or maybe because Tyler has gone through 6 pair of undies in the past 2 days and I'm behind on laundry.   Or most of the box of Raisin Bran Crunch on the living room floor???  Ingestion of crayons and play dough??  Ok no more complaining.  The great thing is that the boys are feeling much better and are using much fewer kleenexes :)

Here is my family, captured with the camera on self-timer.  They turned out better than I even thought they would, aside from my husband being blurry.

Here we are!  And the kids, from L to R are Ryan, Riley, Reece, & Tyler.  No, we didn't mean to use that many "R" names.
